Possible listeria contamination has caused Ready Pac Foods Inc. to recall various products containing apples from restaurants and markets from across the United States. The company, based in Irwindale, CA, is recalling a total of 293, 488 cases and 296,224 individually distributed units of products, according to CBS News.
The apples were possibly contaminated with listeria monocytogenes found on equipment used in one of its subsidiaries. Additionally, the apples were used in Burger King sliced apple packs and various fruit packages and mixes sold at different supermarkets, altogether affecting 36 states and the District of Columbia.
