30,000 LIGHT UP TOY FROGS & DUCKS RECALLED

According to report made on August 7 by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), approximately 30,000 Light-Up Frog and Duck toys have been recalled in the U.S. for choking hazards. They were manufactured in China and distributed nationwide by Toysmith, a company based in Sumner, Washington.

The toys are made of soft plastic and come in two varieties: green frogs and yellow ducks. Each product has a sensor on the bottom that causes the toy to light up when pressed or placed in water. Both the frog toy and the duck toy measure approximately 2.25 inches in length and 1.5 inches in height. The Universal Product Code (UPC) number 2424 5159 can be found on a round tag attached to the product.

Although there have been no reports of injuries as of late, the toys were determined to pose a choking hazard. A small metal conductor pin can come out of the bottom of the product and could possibly be swallowed by a child.

The product was sold exclusively at Cost Plus World Market for around $3 between July 2012 and December 2012. All consumers are advised to immediately take the toys away from children and return them for a full refund.
