Shawn Smith is the firm’s Case Manager. He is a dedicated and motivated professional with over thirty years of extensive experience in all aspects of insurance claims handling and investigative procedures, including litigation and resolving complex personal liability claims. He is highly versed in liability claims for autos, homes, commercial, and property damage. He has excellent skills in problem solving, negotiation and investigation.

Shawn joined Van Der Walde & Associates in 2013 and has been with our firm through the transition to Caputo & Van Der Walde. Shawn conducts initial investigations, reviews and analyzes medical records, drafts detailed settlement demand letters, is involved in negotiation and settlement of claims, and assists in trial preparation. In consultation with the firm’s attorney’s, he works with the clients to answer any questions that they may have regarding liability, injuries, or applicable insurance.
