TEXTING WHILE DRIVING IS A DISTRACTION NO ONE CAN AFFORD

Texting is the preferred method of communication by teenagers, who are also one of the major source of texting auto accidents. Nothing seems too inconsequential not to be texted, at any time, especially while driving. All it takes to change a life is 3-5 seconds; the amount of time generally used while texting in a car.
A young driver, more intent on texting her friends that she was on her way to meet them, only has to take her eyes off the road for a few seconds to cause an accident. That’s when it happens. Crossing the intersection, the texting driver did not see the man legally in the crosswalk. Her car hits him, throwing his body into the air and then to the ground where the head trauma results in his death. Texting, and no other contributing factor, is determined to be the cause of the accident. She may lose her driving privileges and even get incarcerated. The victim loses his life.

Teenagers are 4 times as likely to be involved in a texting car accident, whether they are the victim or the cause of the accident, the lives of all involved in the accident are forever changed.

Nothing can bring back a loved one killed in a senseless texting and driving accident. However, the family may be entitled to compensation from the responsible party(ies).
