Evenflo Recalls Booster Seats in U.S., Canada

On October 15, Evenflo Company, Inc. initiated a voluntary recall of certain Maestro Combination Booster Seats. The recall includes child restraint systems sold in both the U.S. and Canada. Overall, the recall affects approximately 18,500 Maestro products; with about 14,000 in the U.S. and 4,500 in Canada.

The voluntary recall addresses a crack that appeared during high-impact, frontal collision laboratory tests conducted in late September of this year. There have been no reports of the crack occurring in the field and no injuries have been reported.

In the U.S., this proactive recall affects Maestro products with model numbers beginning with 310 that were built between November of 2009 and April of this year. In Canada, the recall involves products with model numbers starting with 310 that were built between December 2009 and early April 2010.

Please note the recall does not affect Maestro Combination Booster Seats build after April of this year.

To notify consumers, Evenflo is sending notice to registered owners of the defective child product. All units have been immediately removed from store shelves. Evenflo is also providing a free reinforcement kit, which contains a reinforcement bracket and easy to follow instructions.

Evenflo is asking that owners visit the Evenflo website or call 800-265-0749 during business hours for more information. Evenflo asks that customers not return the recalled Maestro Combination Booster Seat to their places of purchase.
