The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that a traffic accident involving a garbage truck and a Mercedes SUV occurred on Tuesday, November 16, in Capitola at about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 1 and 41st Avenue.
According to police, witnesses of the Capitola car accident report the garbage truck ran a red light and struck the sports utility vehicle as it turned left onto 41st Avenue. The woman driving the Mercedes SUV was seriously injured in the Capitola car crash, and suffered injuries to her pelvis, ribs, and shoulder. She was transported via helicopter to a San Jose hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.
