Dan was raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. He moved to California in 1995
to attend San Jose State University, where he earned a B.A. in Political
Science in 2000. After graduation Dan headed to the island of Grand Cayman
to work on coral reef conservation projects.
While on the island working as a dive master and crew member aboard charter
boats, Dan logged over 3,000 SCUBA dives and more than 10,000 hours at
sea working his way up to captain. Upon completion of a rigorous exam,
he obtained his credential as a United States Coast Guard 50-Ton Master Captain.
In 2005 Dan returned to the Bay Area to earn his Juris Doctorate in 2008
from Santa Clara University. He began his legal career at a small boutique
Silicon Valley plaintiffs firm, where he developed and fostered his passion
to assist injured people.
Seeking to develop his trial skills further, in 2011, Dan took a position
as in-house counsel for one of the largest insurance companies in the
United States. Dan has tried numerous cases to verdict as first-chair
trial counsel. He has established a reputation in the community as being
extremely well prepared and for being a tireless and assertive advocate
for his clients.
Dan is now back where he belongs - once again representing injured individuals
as they seek fair compensation from those who caused them harm.
Dan is a member in good standing of the California State Bar, admitted
in 2008, a member of the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association,
and very active with the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) where
he is also involved with their New Lawyers Division. He has served on
the Board of Governors for the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association
and was president of the Student Bar Association while attending law school.
During his free time, Dan and his wife Monique, enjoy traveling, photography,
SCUBA Diving and living an active, healthy lifestyle.
